Inception Blog 300 words

My character is Arthur in inception. Arthur is Cobb's right hand man and whenever Cobb needs something done, Arthur is by side. Arthur is very confident in inception. He has mastered it as a whole. Arthur has a strong voice in the movie, and it shows his confidence when he talks. By listening to his voice in the movie you can tell he knows what he is talking about.

What I add to the scene is a strong voice that makes people agree to what I am saying as Arthur. I feel when I'm on stage I have a good voice that protrays my character. Arthur is a complex individual. While I was watching the movie I picked up that he has almost different body lanague in every scene. This will be a challenge but I think I'm more than capable to tackle it head on.

Something that I need to work on is memorizing my lines and what are the follow up line before my actual lines. The movie Inception is very complicated to understand, and the script is also very hard to read. The lines come up abruptly with no indication. You really need to Memorize your lines and your partners lines before yours. This will be a fun challenge to really improve my acting skills. It has been hard to find time to run through my lines for the Cheshire academy production of inception, mostly due to lost of other school work that has been piled on me this week. Despite that I have found time to look at my lines every night for about 30 minutes. I don't want to let my fellow class mates down by not knowing my lines.

Inception has been a lot of work. It has also been a lot of fun. The class seems to be having a lot of fun with the project. I look forward to seeing the finished project of inception and how far along we have come since we have joined acting class back in January.

Fight Me: Staring Josh & Cade

Cade and I did a great job of performing our skit. It was funny and enjoyable to watch. We had a time performing as well as practicing it and learning our lines. Our skit was about a small kid named Tiny being bullied by a bigger kid named George and the Tiny gets the girl that George was tiring to impressive by beating up Tiny.  This was a funny scene also because Cade and I are about equal in size. This made the scene ironic. Cade is a skillful actor with lots of potential. I learned a lot from him with our time together. I feel and believe we both had a great performance and it would be good if we keep working together I future.

My performance was funny. I used a pretend voice to make myself appeal wimpy. I was also acting like a kid that is small and had no will to fight. If I was put in this situation in real life, I would have retaliated. My projection is great. I have a good stage voice even when I'm talking in a funny way. I believe I am funny when on stage and I think comedy is some thing I can see myself doing in the near future.Some things I can improve in the fourth quarter is not smiling during my scenes. In some instances when I smiled the audience picked it up which made it not as realistic, and not professional. This can easily be resolved with more practice. I am still very new to acting. I think I have a lot of talent in acting and think I can pursue it one day. I can also work on more body movement and more actions and not just standing around.

Cade and I have a great chemistry while we are acting together. We are both on the same page. He helped me with my lines. I also helped Cade with his lines. While practing we went over our movements and where on the same page with everything we did. Cade showed me what he wanted to do with the the scene and we incorporated with the  things I wanted to do with the scene. Some things we could of made better were being more active and facing the audience at all times. Cade and I overall both revived good grades on this project. I would like to be paired with Cade more often because I think he can help me with my acting abilities, as also I believe I can help him as well.

What do you think is most important thing in scene

For this next project in acting class is going to be a interesting task to preform. I am going to be playing a small wimpy kid that is pushed around by a bigger bully. This is funny and ironic because I am not a weakling and I am not small. I could easily fight back but my character chooses not to. My character see,s to be younger and less mature than his counterpart in the scene. At the end of the act my character ends up getting the girl's phone number that the bully was trying to get by impressing her by beating me up and pushing me around.

What's important for me to do in this scene, is act wimpy, scared, and very mellow. My character is different than how I act in real life. I am a strong, energetic, loud person, so it will be fun to try acting this piece. It will be a fun challenge. I also need to work on more body movments and make myself look more into it than just standing still and going through the motions. I think I can do this, and bring my acting skills higher. It will be good practice for me.

It is important for me to take this seriously so I can get the best grade possible.  I can easily do the bare minimum and still get a decent grade for the project. I have a good talent for memorizing things and can get through it with very little practice. But, I want a good grade and will do the most I can do to make this a reality. Also by practing Im better off because acting is something I want to pursue one day.

I will work on this by practicing daily while I am home and in school.  I will be running through my lines every night. I will move around like my character would in class. I'll also ask someone else to run through the lines with me so I can here many interpretations in the scene. I feel if I take all steps necessary I can make this price my own, and get a great grade in acting class.

GEORGE: Fight me.

TINY: I don't want to... 

(GEORGE punches TINY)

TINY: Ow! What did you do that for?

GEORGE: Plenty more where that came from... 

(GEORGE tries several more punches as TINY uses some folders and papers as a shield)

TINY: Cut it out!

GEORGE: Bet you're not so tough without your shield, Captain America.

(GEORGE slaps down folders, TINY yelps and GEORGE tries a few more punches)

TINY: Have you gone crazy? 

GEORGE: Something like that.

TINY: I won't fight you.

GEORGE: Then I win.

TINY: Huh?

GEORGE: I win.

TINY: I guess so.

GEORGE: (yells) Tell me I win.

TINY: Fine, you win.

(GEORGE punches him)

GEORGE: Louder.

TINY: You win!

GEORGE: That's right. I am the alpha dog, baby!

(GEORGE does a chest pump against TINY who stumbles back)

TINY: What is with you, man?

(GEORGE grabs TINY in a headlock)

GEORGE: See her over there?

TINY: Yolanda?

GEORGE: That her name?  Yeah the new one.  Yolanda...  so hot.  

TINY: She's why you're acting like an idiot?

(GEORGE stops headlock)

GEORGE: Yup... I want to impress her.

(GEORGE lets TINY out of headlock)

TINY: Great... Glad I could help.

GEORGE:  She saw the whole thing.  They're laughing.  They think I am awesome. Now for the kill.

(TINY flinches)

GEORGE: Not you... Her.  Gonna seal the deal.

(GEORGE exits.  TINY tries to fix himself up and gather papers. GEORGE returns and holds out a piece of paper)

TINY: What's this?

GEORGE: Her number. She wants me to give it to you.  

(Says it snotty) 

GEORGE (cont.): She thought you were cute. 

(GEORGE walks off in defeat)

GEORGE (cont.): Everyone roots for underdog.

TINY looks at number happily and does a cute little wave.

Blog 4 Flash Scene

Jaden and I did a scene from the hit new TV show called The Flash. The scene we decided to do for The Flash was where the reverse flash a.k.a Doctor Harrison Wells reveals him self to Cisco one of the main characters as being the killer of the Flash's mother. I was the reverse flash, and Jaden was Cisco. The scene in the TV show was taken place in STAR labs which is where the Flash and Doctor Harrison Wells work together in a mutual friendship. While one of star labs employees finds out Doctor Wells secret, Wells himself enters the lab in dramatic fashion.

In our scene, the Reverse Flash stabs Cisco right through the heart killing him instantly with his knife that was stashed in his back pocket. It was a dramatic scene, and we tried to stick as close to the TV version  as possible. It was a good learning expirence to see where we both can benefit in  acting. This was the first scene Jaden and I ever peformed with sound and lots of movement. I believe Jaden and I did a fantastic job of remaking the scene in our own unique way.


 After watching the scene after we filmed, I found that it both looked smooth, and both Jaden and I went thought their lines effortlessly. Memorizing my lines was easy for me. I believe memorizing football plays definitely helped. Jaden had a great performance as well. He showed how he was capable of memorizing words he may not have have been fimilar with before. Jaden was also a great partner with a great attitude, and I could see myself working with him again. For first time actors going through our first scene ever, I think we showed a lot of promise. If acting is something that we both wanted to pursue I think it is something that could both be accomplished and make a career out of it.

Some things that can be improved is body language, and facial expressions. Looking through the film there were many instances were the scene was found as dull for our audience. I think this can be improved by more practice which will come in time. Our scene was also a bit on the shorter side which was good for memorizing our lines as first time actors, but was also bad because our grade could of been better if the scene had been longer.

Acting class has proved so far to be a great deal of fun, but also a lot of work. It is really good because I feel that I can build off of this class and become a talent actor one day, but also build connections with the people in the class. Connections are very important in acting just like in anything else. My goals is to use this class to become the best actor I can be. This first scene we did is a good baseline to see how much Jaden and I will improve over the next 3 year!

Once On This Island Review

This last Saturday night my family and I went to see the Cheshire Academy production of "Once On This Island." The play was great and seemed like a lot fun for the actors. I had a good time watching my fellow classmates on stage. They are all skilled actors with a lot of potential to pursue it as a career.

The life of Ti Moune was greatly portrayed  in the live performance. It started out as her being a youngling  and growing into a women over the time of a song. Ti Moune lived among the pescants before being chosen by the gods to nurse a rich man named Daniel back to health.  Ti Moune and Daniel fell for one another even when everyone condemned their love for each other. With the support from no one and the arrangement for Daniel to be predestined to marry another girl that is not Ti Moune, she was betrayed and fell into a deep depression. Ti Moune was given an opportunity  to save her life by killing Daniel and getting over her lost love. She ultimately chose his life over her own feeling her unreturned love was to much to bare for the rest of her life. She eventually died, and the gods pitied her casting her spirit into a tree where Daniel's kids would play once born.

The Cheshire Academy production of "Once On This Island" was one of the better high school plays I've seen. Cheshire Academy has a great drama program with skillful actors. The live music correlated  with the actor's movements perfectly. The band was so good that I actually thought it was a recording other than a live performance. The stage looked great. Everyone could see the effort that was put out into making the background look as good as it did.

The stage crew made it on and off the stage when switching scenes effortlessly. Sometimes I couldn't  even tell that they switched the stage setting until afte the lights were back on the stage. Two things Id try and improve were the memorization of lines/clarity while speaking, and making sure that some scenes are acted properly. Their were times where the audience found flunders in the actors performance and memorization of lines. And lastly their was one scene in the play that I felt was supposed to be romantic and serious but the audience interpreted it as funny which kind of threw the whole genre of the play off from being a romantic drama to a kind of romantic comedy.

Other than those to negative factors, I'd give the play a solid 7 out of 10 for a rating. Leaving room for improvement, but also appreciating the hard work and effort that went into producing the play. I give the producor/director amble credit for the performance and encouraging all the actors to do the best job possible. I would definitely recommend the play to anyone that wanted to see a good high school play showing. I would also definitely go see another Cheshire Academy production as soon as another comes out.

Script for scene in The Flash

Cisco: Barry, I think Doctor Wells is really not who we think he is. I need to find out what went wrong that night we captured the reverse flash and find out how he really  escaped. Can you cover for me?

Barry: sure I'll tell wells you went out of town to run an errand.

Cisco walls down the hallway to the trap they sent and captured the reserve flash. Cisco works on a computer. 

(Cisco watches the holograms) : Doctor Harrison wells we meet at last. Cisco plays it over again. : Doctor Harrison wells we meet at last. 

Cisco: It was a hologram wells tricked us 

Wells: hello Cisco your incrediblally clever. 

Cisco: your him the reverse flash. 

Wells: We never properly introduced. I am Eboard Thawne. 

Cisco: Thawne... like Eddie Thawne. 

Wells: let's call him a distant relitave. 

Cisco: you were there that night when Barry was a kid. You killed Nora Allen why? 

Wells: it was never my intention to kill Nora. I was there to kill Barry. 

Cisco: Your his friend. Your teach no him how to go faster. Why? 

Wells: I'll tell you why Cisco. I have been stuck in this time for 15 long years. And the flash, and the flashes speed. is the key to my way home. to the future.  And no one will prevent this from happening.

Cisco: I can help you

Wells: your smart Cisco. but not that smart. 

This is hard for me. Because have become quite fond of you especially you. And in many ways you have shown me what it is like to have a son.
